NHSA Update – Dave
There is a form that was sent each club president to sign and return, stating that each member would be a member of the NHSA. There is nothing in the bylaws stating this. Only that the Club needs to be a member The NH AG has been involved in this issue and the connected mandatory membership fees set by the NHSA. Dave, and several other clubs have refused to sign this form. The AG does have a copy of the NHSA bylaws, which they have put on line. NHSA has been very reserved in releasing the bylaws . The drawback of not signing the consent is that the choice of the Lisbon Stump Jumpers during on-line membership application process will not be in the pull down list. However, if the person types “Lisbon” then they can choose LSJ.
What do we lose/receive by being a member of NHSA
We are not in jeopardy of losing grant in aid since this comes from the NH Fish and Game. NHSA provides for a full time lobbyist. There is an insurance policy – but the clubs do not have access to the policy to elicit what it covers. The Sno-Traveler is published by NHSA and does include information from various leaders and other clubs in the state.
Trail Master/Administrator Report
Gates are in place at Phil Clarks
Vintage Race Sub Committee (Joe, Brad, Allan, Rob)
Thus far the sponsors of the race have still been committed to their same support as last year. We have hired an announcer; GNW is still looking for one. There was a recent meeting between GNW and LSJ with no new changes. Forms for sponsors were available at the meeting.
Littleton Club (LORR)
They are still interested in coordinating with us a cookout and poker run. (There was no news at the time of this meeting. Steve Hight phoned 1/13/15 – the date is Saturday February 20th from 9-2 at Littleton Chevy).
Cheryl mis-understood and wrote that the recently purchased cutter bar was attached to the groomer drag. Dave and Rob are working with Canaan to purchase a small drag to attach the cutter bar.
NH Trail Updates
Dave discussed that a portion of the Lancaster/Groveton trail has been closed. Route 5 is closed from Northumberland and intersection to the north of 5/117/7 . Route 117 is being shared with loggers.
E911 mapping project
Dave gave names to the various trails, and junction signs are now being made by NH 911 . Our next club map will need the 911 references printed on it.
The diamond signs ex: C1, that label our club trail numbers will need to be replace with the actual name of the trail. Steve is taking a course in a computer generated sign system. He will provide labor at no charge to make signs. The last option discussed would cost $15 per sign.
Next meeting; Thursday January 14th.
Respectfully submitted: Cheryl Wiggett Sec.
